Nuclear fusion is becoming a strategic part of Europe’s long-term energy transition, evolving from scientific research toward industrial development. Supported by advances in plasma physics, materials science, and international collaboration, it is gaining momentum as a potential low-carbon, dispatchable energy source. However, major technical challenges remain before commercial viability is achieved.
